Better fabric for a better world

Plastic once looked like progress. Not any more. It came with a cost no one wanted to see: chemicals, microplastics in rivers, oceans and bodies, polyester outlasting the people who lived in it.

Every Noir Velocity base layer is a quiet refusal of that story - proof that performance can be natural, that you can do more in fewer pieces and that the future of activewear doesn't have to be plastic.

We're actively rethinking how clothing is made, worn and kept in circulation. We aim to design seasonless wardrobes - fewer pieces that work across climates, commutes and weekends, in fact all year round, instead of chasing micro-trends. We believe sustainable fashion is now the baseline, with a shift to natural and low-impact materials, smarter production and designs that outlast fast-fashion cycles.

That's why we champion Shima Seiki 3D knitting technology, enabling us to make the finest, seamless knitwear with zero waste, working with progressive manufacturing partners who produce the finest quality garments and take a long term view.

Visiting potential new factories in Portugal we looked for traceability and environmental impact, circular thinking and transparency rather than 'green' gimmicks. Here for instance are the machines used to re-spin yarn back onto Shima Seiki compatible cones so that it can be used again.

But it's not just about base layers. What are the future designs that will outlast fast fashion cycles? The finest most lightweight merino t shirt has got to be high up every body's list. We all have a favourite t shirt, but what if that favourite could not only be used for yoga, running, walking the dog but also take you straight on to a board meeting? We know merino performs brilliantly, is naturally temperature-regulating, sweat-wicking and resistant to smell.Watch this space!

Secondly you may remember we've been working on making a limited edition pair of trousers, using innovative new fabrics in flattering styles, to make versatile trousers that drape beautifully. We have a couple of amends that need to be made. But we're nearly there. Let us know if you'd like to be involved with IRL testing.
