Designed for a life in motion
All things equestrian seem to be having a moment right now ... Horses and humans enjoy a unique and symbiotic relationship that spans the millennia. We revere them for their grace and power and we love them unreservedly as partners in sport and leisure. As we enter Spring, we are exploring the world of Polo: a team sport where both parties have to work in perfect harmony, performing at the highest level, whilst making the most challenging manoeuvres appear effortless ... something we at Noir always aspire to ...
We caught up with Alexandra Priest ahead of the start of the UK polo season next month, to find out how and why she got into the sport.
1. Why polo?
I started riding as soon as I could walk, if not before, so horses have always been in my life. I only started polo when I joined university. Since then it has become my job as a coach and I've been playing all over the world in countries such as Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico and the UK.
As much as I loved show jumping, the thrill of the game, polo being fast paced, and it being a team sport, was what won me over to polo.

2 How did you get into it?
I got into polo through university, playing for the University of London and also joining teams with Durham too.
3 What's always in your fridge?
I always have Greek yoghurt in my fridge. Most days of the week I start my day with yoghurt and granola!
4 A special power/gift or something not many people know about you?
I was recently on "The Career Ladder", so that will be on TikTok soon probably!
5 What is one of your favourite possessions and why?
One of my favourite possessions are my polo mallets. I cannot play without them and they are handmade and designed to me.

6 Who inspires you and why?
So many of the top female polo players inspire me. Nina Clarkin is one of my biggest inspirations, both as a top competitor herself and an incredible advocate of up and coming female players.
7 Are you passionate about a particular cause?
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a cause that's close to me, I have friends who suffer from CF and the least I can do is to support them and others suffering. So I fundraise and donate when I can.

8 Favourite book/play/film/place/band?
My current favourite book is ‘How to Solve Your Own Murder’ by Kristen Perrin. It’s incredibly amusing and was a great read for
the long flight to Argentina! My favourite artist at the moment has to be Olivia Dean, she is on repeat when driving to matches this summer!
9 What’s next?
After last summer, I moved to Druids Lodge Polo Club down in Wiltshire, I have also been to Argentina to play the season
out there. As we are moving into the Summer season for 2026, I am bringing my ponies into work and getting them fit for the summer ahead!
10 Why are Noir tops a great fit for your
lifestyle?
The Noir tops have been a fantastic addition to my wardrobe, as I can wear them most days when I am training and also under
team shirts if it’s too cold when playing. They are lightweight, breathable and exactly what I was looking for!
Best of luck in the upcoming season Alex!
